The Scoop

BY E.A.R. is a jazz trio that plays lots of jazz standards, and not-so-standards, in a nonstandard way. These musicians are dedicated to staying true to the uniqueness of each jazz composition they play, while at the same time making each song their own. The set list ranges from swing tunes by Duke Ellington to bebop tunes by Charlie Parker, and many other great artist/composers.

BY E.A.R. is available for all types of events, and can provide music for dancing and listening, or background music in keeping with a quieter setting.

Members:

Eugene Warren Jr., Bass
...has been playing bass for 20 years. He has played all over the world and is experienced in all styles. He has lived in Santa Cruz since 1994.


Anthony Steinberg, Piano
...has been playing piano for 20 years. He received his A.A. in Music from West Valley College and his B.A. in Classical Piano from San Francisco State. He currently offers private lessons to interested students.


Renee Solano, Drums
...has been playing drums for almost a decade, and has been playing in local jazz and blues groups for the past four years. She has taught privately for over one year and currently offers private drumset instruction for beginning students.

Jon Familant, Saxophones
...latest addition to the trio, thereby officially making it a trio with four members, Jon plays professionally all over the Bay Area.
